Global Education & Development launches new program for the prevention and cure of bullying for Anti-Bullying Week 2022: Reach Out
On the 12th of November 2022 Global Education & Development are launching a parenting program to help parents and their children to prevent and overcome the ever increasing problem of bullying.
What is anti-bullying week?
How does the parenting program help with anti-bullying?
After 20 years of experience of working with parents and children, Global Education & Development have discovered a number of consistent factors in all children who have been bullied and those children who bully others. By educating parents on these areas we help them to help their children. These areas are:
1. Children who are able to express themselves and have confidence in their own feelings are less likely to be bullied.
2. Children who understand their own and others feelings are less likely to want to bully others and to be bullied.
3. If there are strong relationships with parents and children through better communication, then families are able to prevent, through early identification, to deal with bullying. Parents will be more able to equip their children with skills to avoid and overcome bullying. And possibly reversing the process and initiating enduring friendships.
This program is designed to help all parents to develop the skills needed to their children with the prevention and cure of bullying. Please can you answer these basic questions so that we can confirm your placement on the program.
What is the conventional approach to bullying and how does GED differ?
Most parents and educators approach bullying from a reactive approach. They think “our children should not be bullied”, but what about our children? Our children have their own problems with overconfidence, under confidence and vulnerability, so we need to address the needs of all of our children who are bullied and who might bully others.
Global Education & Development looks at both sides of the argument and tries to find a comprehensive solution. We also support parents to develop techniques to overcome these problems.
What are the practicalities of the program
The program itself is delivered over 2 x 1 hour interactive group sessions. This is done online for ease & convenience. The cost of the program is £50 for those families who are in a position to finance themselves. If however you are unable to fund the program a contribution of your choice towards the GE&D CIC will more than suffice.
